Accelerated three-dimensional free-breathing first pass cardiac perfusion at 1.5T

چکیده
Background Perfusion CMR provides an important diagnostic tool for the detection of myocardial ischemia in patients with known or suspected CAD [1]. Conventionally, 2D multislice imaging with 2-4 short-axis slices is often used for evaluation of left ventricular perfusion. 3D CMR perfusion has been proposed for its superior coverage and higher SNR [2]. However, accelerated imaging is required for adequate spatio-temporal resolution. Recent studies in accelerated CMR have shown that utilizing local information in the imaging volume significantly improves reconstruction quality [3,4]. However, such highly accelerated k-t based techniques used for 3D perfusion [3] require breath-hold acquisitions, which may be difficult following physical stress or for some patients. In this study, we sought to develop a compressed-sensing (CS) based image reconstruction technique utilizing local imaging features for highly-accelerated 3D free-breathing perfusion CMR.

Evaluation of semi quantitative perfusion parameter maps generated based on a fully automated non-rigid motion correction during a first pass myocardial perfusion (FPMP) MRI
Background FPMP MRI is commonly used to assess CAD and most recently to assess cardiac involvement in asymptomatic patients with CMVD such as systemic sclerosis and diabetes mellitus. FPMP MRI evaluation relies on visual inspection for qualitative analysis but quantitative analysis of rest and stress perfusion data is desired to improve diagnosis. One main challenge of qualitative analysis incl...
متن کاملFirst-pass myocardial perfusion imaging with whole ventricular coverage using L1-SPIRIT accelerated spiral trajectories
Background First-pass perfusion imaging using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has become clinically applicable as an important tool for diagnosing coronary artery disease. We have recently demonstrated that high quality firstpass images can be acquired with an optimized spiral pulse sequence, but this sequence is only capable of imaging 3 short axis slices of the heart for a maximum heart rate...
متن کاملComparison of the quantitative first pass myocardial perfusion MRI with and without prospective slice tracking: comparison between breath-hold and free-breathing condition.
Physiologic motion of the heart is one of the major problems of myocardial blood flow quantification using first pass perfusion-MRI method. To overcome these problems, a perfusion pulse sequence with prospective slice tracking was developed. Cardiac motion was monitored by a navigator directly positioned at heart's basis to overcome no additional underlying model calculations connecting diaphra...
متن کامل3 Tesla MR imaging provides improved contrast in first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging over a range of gadolinium doses.
PURPOSE To compare myocardial enhancement during first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging at 3.0 Tesla (T) and 1.5T. MATERIALS AND METHODS First-pass myocardial perfusion imaging was performed on twelve normal subjects at 3T and 1.5T using an interleaved notched saturation recovery gradient echo pulse sequence. Subjects received either 0.10 mmol/kg for both scans (group 1), 0.075 mmol/kg for b...
متن کاملA patient-adapted navigator tracking approach for prospective 3D respiratory motion correction in free-breathing myocardial perfusion imaging
H. Pedersen, S. Ringgaard, W. Y. Kim The MR Research Centre, Skejby Hospital, Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus N, Denmark INTRODUCTION Quantitative analysis of myocardial perfusion using free-breathing first-pass perfusion MRI is degraded by respiratory induced motion of the heart. Conventional strategies to correct this motion include the manual alignment of each image to fit a reference ima...
